Precisely as the title indicates...where did my 2012 go?!?!!?
I checked to see what I did and it's pretty much close to zilch.
Why? How so?
Because I got a part time job at an English conversation school on Saturdays which essentially turned me into working 6 days a week.
And during the little time I had off, I shoved Japanese kanji into my brain and studied from the elementary school books.
Congratulations on that hard work though because I'll have essentially crammed 6 years worth of kanji in a span of 1 year come this spring.
What have a I drawn? Well, looking back I got a ton of whack scribbles in my sketch book so that doesn't mean I was completely unproductive.... I just haven't colored anything besides the pencil crayons that I've been using from the counseling room at school.
After overworking myself sick, I firmly decided to not re-sign my part time contract for the next school period in April. End of March, I'm outta there. It's not like I hated teaching there, but I had to do something more worthwhile on my Saturdays than just make money to survive. I broke even so all is good. If I concern myself with making money, I'll forget about what makes me happy.
I have to hang in there until the end of March. I hope my immune system isn't screaming at me too badly.
I was sick from October to November, caught the flu during Christmas break, and now I have the cold.
Oh the joys of working in a school setting, the germs just pass around like hot potato XD
My priority to finish elementary school kanji so I can start junior high school level in April. It will be another tough cram session to get 3 years of JHS Japanese into a year...maybe I shouldn't be so ambitious and just aim to cram in 2 years into 1.
Second priority is to write *flawless* basic Japanese. My goal for this year is to make a submission into LaLa's magazine. I'll call it an achievement just to submit - I don't even need to win. As much as I want to attend a seiyuu school, I think my desire to draw outweighs my desire to act...so I'm going with the flow.
Third priority. Practice kendo with my students. I'm gonna need all the exercise I can get for my arms and wrists.
I hope I can keep my priorities straight this year.
